The Akron Aeros ninth annual "Education Days" will offer some of the most unique learning experiences in recent history. Nearly 25,000 school children from Northeast Ohio will attend this field trip in 2009, which combines an educational theme with an Aeros baseball game. Educational events will occur during pre-game ceremonies as well as throughout the game. Dates for the 2009 season are: April 15, April 30, May 13 and May 28. All games start at 10:35 a.m. Teachers who are interested in reserving tickets may contact Kim Usselman-Fogel of the Aeros at (330) 253-5151 x283 or (800) 972-3767 x283. Included in the educational experience is an optional supplied integrated curriculum. The 2008 curriculum is available for download below as a preview to the 2009 edition, which will be released in a few months.

Overall, participating Akron Public School systems rated Education Day a 9.6 on a 10 scale!
On each of the four"Education Days" there will be nearly 6,500 school children in attendance from Summit County and Northeast Ohio. The object of each day is to create a unique, out-of-classroom educational experience for the students. Special educational events will take place throughout the game. Plus, teachers will have the option to use a supplied integrated curriculum prior to and during the event that focuses on the theme "Baseball IS Education".
