The Akron Aeros 12th annual "Education Days" will offer
some of the most unique learning experiences in recent history. Nearly
20,000 school children from Northeast Ohio attended this field trip
in 2011, which combines an educational theme with an Aeros baseball game.
Educational events will occur during pre-game ceremonies as well as throughout
the game. Dates for the 2012 season are: May 9 and May 30. All games start at 10:35 a.m.
Teachers who are interested in reserving tickets may contact the Aeros at (330) 253-5151 or (800) 972-3767. Requests also
may be emailed to info@akronaeros.com.
Reserve your tickets early as dates will fill up quickly!
Included in the educational experience is an optional supplied integrated
curriculum. The 2011 curriculum is available for download below as a preview
to the 2012 edition, which will be released soon.
Overall, participating Akron Public School systems rated Education Day a 9.6 on a 10 scale!
On each of the two "Education Days" there will be nearly 7,500
school children in attendance from Summit County and Northeast Ohio. The
object of each day is to create a unique, out-of-classroom educational
experience for the students. Special educational events will take place
throughout the game. Plus, teachers will have the option to use a supplied
integrated curriculum prior to and during the event that focuses on the
theme "Baseball IS Education".
