The Canal Park administrative office will close at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, and Infield Outfitters, the official Aeros team shop, will close at 12:00 p.m. for the Labor Day weekend. We will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7.

Tickets for all potential Eastern League post-season games at Canal Park will be complimentary to all fans, the Aeros announced today. These tickets will be available beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 9th and fans have several different ways to purchase these tickets in person, over the phone or online. The only fee for Aeros playoff tickets will be a $1 convenience charge for fans purchasing tickets online at www.akronaeros.com. The Aeros are the defending 2009 EL Champions and have won the Southern Division post-season title for five straight years.

Left-handed pitcher Matt Packer is the winner of this week’s Akron Aeros Player of the Week award, the team announced today. Packer (1-2, 3.60 ERA) earned his first win with the Aeros in Saturday’s 9-0 triumph over the Erie SeaWolves. The Germantown, Tenn. native celebrated his 23rd birthday in a big way as he gave up no runs on six hits and struck out eight batters over six innings of work.

The Akron Aeros revealed their entire schedule for the 2011 regular season today, joining forces in the release with the rest of the Double-A Eastern League. Akron will begin the regular season with a seven-game home stand at Canal Park, starting Thursday, April 7th at 7:05 p.m. for Opening Day against the Binghamton Mets. The season again features 71 home games in Ohio and the release of the full Aeros promotion schedule will be during the upcoming off-season.
